From Standing Timber To Family Legacy

About RIFT SAWN
Two perfectionists, united by one mission:
To redefine the woodcraft and buying experience through a seamlessly integrated approach. Combining modern innovation with time-honored craftsmanship, we elevate each piece to timeless perfection
THE UNLIKELY DUO
When a music industry veteran with sawdust in his DNA met a former military man turned pro craftsman, something clicked. Maybe it was their shared obsession with detail or their mutual hatred of "good enough." Or it was just fate – but Rift Sawn was born.
OUR ORIGIN STORY
Picture a cramped garage workshop, tools spilling into the carport, and one fateful conversation: "This just won't do."
Those four words from Alan to Justin launched Tennessee's most obsessive wood-centric operation. From that overcrowded garage to our current space (a legendary cabinet maker's former shop, complete with 40 years of sawdust), we are building more than a business, it’s a revolution in the way we source, process, and utilize our local timber and wood products.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only work with local Tennessee wood?
While we prioritize sourcing from Tennessee (because holy smokes, have you seen our trees?), we’ll source the perfect timber for your project wherever it grows. But here’s our promise: We’ll always tell you exactly where your wood came from – down to the county when possible.
I have a tree on my property that fell - can you turn it into furniture?
Absolutely! This is actually one of our favorite types of projects. Instead of letting that 100-year-old oak become mulch, we can transform it into an heirloom piece that keeps your property’s story alive. From milling to finishing, we’ll handle the entire process.
What's your turnaround time?
Quality craftsmanship can’t be rushed – would you really want it to be? Typical projects take 8-12 weeks, but every piece is unique. We’ll give you a detailed timeline upfront, and unlike those big box stores, we’d rather be honest than optimistic about delivery dates.
Why should I choose custom furniture over store-bought?
Look, if you’re cool with furniture that’s designed to last until your next move, we’re not your guys. But if you want pieces that your grandkids will proudly display (and their kids will fight over), then let’s talk. Our furniture doesn’t just fill space – it creates legacy.
What's your pricing range?
We’re not the cheapest option out there, and we’re proud of that fact. Our prices reflect generations of durability, master craftsmanship, and materials that tell a story. Think investment piece, not disposable furniture. Contact us for specific project quotes.
Do you offer design services?
With backgrounds in architecture and custom building, design isn’t just a service – it’s our obsession. We’ll work with you from initial concept through final placement, ensuring every detail serves both form and function.
What types of wood do you typically work with?
Whatever Mother Nature blessed Tennessee with: Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Maple – you name it. But here’s the thing: we don’t just grab any board off the pile. We handpick each piece based on your project’s specific needs and aesthetic goals.
Do you offer delivery and installation?
You bet. After investing countless hours crafting your piece, we’re not about to trust its final mile to anyone else. Our white-glove delivery service ensures your furniture arrives safely and sits exactly where you envisioned it.
